Root Cause of CFS
Have you ever experienced fatigue that has no specific cause, lasts for a long time and is not usually relieved by a simple bed rest? Chances are you've experienced having a medical condition that is known as chronic fatigue syndrome.
Aside from those, the primary chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms include:
- Feeling fatigue that can't be eliminated with bed rest and get worse after doing a physical or mental exercise that won't go away in a day.
- The loss of energy which greatly affects the person's everyday activities.
- Soreness on the muscle.
- Joint pains with no redness, and swelling
- Sleep disturbance.
- Headaches, memory loss or hard to concentrate.
- Sore throat.
- Painful and mild swelling of lymph nodes.
Some of these chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms can appear all at once. They usually come and go with no definite pattern, and they can last for weeks, months and even days. Also it has been observed that chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms usually occur in women. However, it has not been proven that women are more prone to it.
It usually appears after a bout with viral infection such as a cold. For others it appears during a period of high stress. Still it appears on others without any indications that it will occur. Whatever the cause, it results to the one affected to experience the main chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms that are stated earlier.
Because it has no specific cause, it is often confused with other types of medical conditions that also cause fatigue. It is also the reason why in spite of its many obvious signs and symptoms, chronic fatigue syndrome is not easily diagnosed. Doctors must first rule out other medical conditions before considering a case of chronic fatigue syndrome.
If ever it is finally determined, patients are advised to lessen their activities as not to make them very tired and at the same time increase their activities as not to give them too much rest. In time these can be increased as stamina increases. Various mental and psychological exercises are also applied in conjunction with these. Whatever the case, a doctor can always devise the best possible solution to anyone who's afflicted with this condition.
